Women's Learning Partnership (WLP), a partnership of twenty autonomous organizations primarily in developing countries, trains and supports women leaders and advocates for a just, peaceful world. WLP creates culturally-specific leadership curricula and trainings on democratic participation, and conducts peer to peer capacity building for organizations in the global South to help them empower women to fulfill greater leadership roles at the family, community and national levels. The partnership also conducts research-based advocacy campaigns to reform laws and practices that impede women's full participation in the life of their communities and societies. Over the past decade, WLP's programs and training materials, published in twenty languages, have reached thousands of women in over forty countries, strengthening local organizations to become self-sustaining and to power women's movements across the globe.

WLP is looking for a mission-focused, experienced, strategic minded Chief Operating Officer (COO) to assist the President and Executive Director (ED) to achieve effectively and efficiently the goals of the organization.

• Work in partnership with the President and ED, to implement the organization's strategic plan.
• Serve as the internal administrator of the organization and provide strong day-to-day management of operations.
• In partnership with the President and ED, lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization.
• Oversee the development of an annual budget and quarterly financial reports for the Board of Directors; ensure that expenditures are within budgeted amounts.
• Oversee staff training, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruiting.
• Work with the President and ED to set annual fundraising goals, contribute to major donor cultivation and identify new opportunities for funding from both the public and private sectors.
• Supports the work of WLP partner organizations through providing coordination and administrative back up to WLP liaisons and programme staff.
Key Qualifications
• Dedication to gender equality and women's human rights.
• A minimum of five years of experience working in the nonprofit industry with a minimum of three years in a similar management role.
• Advanced degree in international relations, women's studies, or other related areas.
• Broad range understanding of organizational operations functions and systems including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, human resources and communications
• Proven track record of effectively building organization and staff capacity and the processes that ensure the organization runs smoothly.
• A "hands on" manager with a collaborative approach who enjoys working hard and looks for new challenges
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fundraising experience with emphasis on grant writing

WLP offers an attractive compensation package, including a competitive base salary as well as health, 403(b), and vacation benefits.
